System suitability reviewed before quoting
The difference a coating makes.
Pool deck coating projects.
Our work is the deck coating. Pools, coping, landscaping and structures shown are existing features.

THE DETAILS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Start with wet feet, sunshine and the slab.
Pool surrounds need more consideration than color alone. Drainage, barefoot comfort, texture, cleaning and exposure to pool water should all be part of the conversation before you select a coating.
Texture deserves attention
Discuss wet-area traction and comfort together. A rougher finish can change the feel under bare feet and the effort needed to clean the deck.
Understand the existing surface
Old coatings, cracks, coping and expansion joints affect the project. Provide photos of the deck edges and transitions as well as the main area.
Plan for sun and water
Outdoor suitability and chemical exposure depend on the selected system. The coating should be reviewed for your pool environment, not chosen from appearance alone.
Pool deck resurfacing begins with a condition check.
We start by understanding the concrete and any coating already on it. Loose material, contamination, deterioration and moisture concerns can change the preparation needed. Settlement, significant movement or water collecting in the wrong place may need other work before a decorative coating is appropriate.
A pool deck coating is not a repair for the pool shell, coping movement or failed drainage. Defining those boundaries early helps you get a realistic project scope and avoid covering a problem that still needs attention.
Discuss traction without “slip-proof” promises.
Pool decks are regularly wet, and sunscreen, cleaning residue or algae can affect the walking surface. A suitable texture and care routine are important, but no coating removes the need for caution. Ask to discuss the proposed finish for barefoot use as well as wet conditions.
Keep drainage paths clear and follow the installed system’s cleaning guidance. A glossy appearance in a photograph does not tell you the surface’s wet traction. Choose from a specification and samples, not a promise based on looks.
Set realistic expectations for color and heat.
Coordinate the deck with coping, pool tile, exterior finishes and landscaping. Flake and textured decorative finishes can create different visual effects; the system needs to be suitable for the outdoor pool environment.
Sun, color, ambient temperature and the coating system all affect how a surface feels. We do not describe a decorative finish as a cool-deck system without a specific product specification supporting that use. Discuss shade and barefoot comfort before finalizing your choice.
Plan access, protection and return to use.
Include the full deck area, steps, equipment access and any adjacent patio in the quote request. Note whether the pool is screened or open and whether you use a saltwater system. Those details help establish the project requirements; they do not replace checking the selected product’s suitability.
Confirm how the pool and nearby surfaces will be protected, where furniture will be stored and how access will be managed. Weather and curing conditions affect the schedule. Wait for the agreed return-to-use guidance before bringing back foot traffic, furniture or normal poolside activity.
BEFORE YOU GET STARTED
Your questions, answered.
Will the new coating make the deck cool underfoot?
Not automatically. A decorative coating is not necessarily a heat-reducing system. Discuss the actual product, color and exposure before expecting a cooler surface.
Can you coat a saltwater pool deck?
The selected system must be reviewed for the exposure and cleaning products involved. Tell us about your pool system during the quote so suitability can be confirmed.
Can you repair cracks around the pool?
Repairable surface defects may be included in the coating scope. Active movement, settlement, coping issues and structural repairs require separate assessment. A coating cannot guarantee that moving cracks will stay invisible.
What should I send for an estimate?
Send your location, approximate deck area and photos of the entire surround, cracks, steps, joints and existing finish. Include any drainage or comfort concerns you want addressed.
